50mg/ml was chosen as the concentration over 100mg/ml and 36mg/ml as it is simple to dilute like 100mg/ml but not as hazardous for those not well versed in the safe handling of nicotine solutions. It has also been reported that nicotine at this concentration in propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerine is more stable and has a longer shelf life. We will consider carrying higher concentrations at some point.
Caution: These 50mg/ml solutions are for dilution prior to use. Vaping undiluted at this strength is extremely dangerous and could lead to nicotine poisoning.
Please educate yourself on the safe handling of nicotine. A basic guide can be found on our FAQ page. Literature can be can be found by doing a Google search using terms such as safe handling of nicotine.
Excerpts from Wikipedia explaining the acronyms USP and BP:
USP - United States Pharmacopeia. USP establishes written (documentary) and physical (reference) standards for medicines, food ingredients, dietary supplement products, and ingredients. These standards are used by regulatory agencies and manufacturers to help to ensure that these products are of the appropriate identity, as well as strength, quality, purity, and consistency.
BP - British Pharmacopoeia. The British Pharmacopoeia is an annual published collection of quality standards for UK medicinal substances. It is used by individuals and organisations involved in pharmaceutical research, development, manufacture and testing. Pharmacopoeial standards are publicly available and legally enforceable standards of quality for medicinal products and their constituents. The Pharmacopoeia is an important statutory component in the control of medicines which complements and assists the licensing and inspection processes of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) of the United Kingdom. Pharmacopoeial standards are compliance requirements; that is, they provide the means for an independent judgment as to the overall quality of an article and apply throughout the shelf-life of a product. Inclusion of a substance in a pharmacopoeia does not indicate that it is either safe or effective for the treatment of any disease.
